Happy Birthday to Me!

Today is my 40th birthday and I wanted to do something that would make the second 40 better.  I told my husband that I wanted to make it better and he asked, "because the first 40 was terrible or because you just want to be better?"  I just want to keep getting better with age!!

I want the second half of my life to be about making other people think of Jesus.  I want to make other people feel important.  I want to be more selfless and less selfish.  I want to give credit to God for everything good.  I want people to remember me as someone who walked with God and sought Him with all her heart.

I am not a writer at all.  English was my least favorite subject. So this blog will have lots of grammatical errors and not be very witty or well-written, but it will be honest and written from the heart.

The first thing I want to give credit to God for is taking care of a medical bill that I thought was impossible at first.  I just got the best birthday present of all today when I opened the letter from our insurance company telling me that they had covered everything!!  The initial bill was staggering and made me sick.  I put the bill in my bible in 2 Kings 19:14 and asked Him for help like Hezekiah did with the letter he received from his enemies.  I am not saying that this is the prescription to do for every bill, but this was my way of asking for God's help and trusting Him for the wisdom to know how to handle it.  He took care of it and helped us through.  I Praise you, God!!

The other things are minor, but I was to thank God for the free iced Campfire Mocha from Caribou for my birthday, the free lunch with my hubby at Mexican Village and that all the socks matched when I folded the laundry.  We have to thank Him for the big and the small things.  "Every good and perfect gift is from above" James 1:17

I don't know how often I will write, but I know I will use this as a way to journal my walk with God.  I am looking forward to a glorious second half.
